At 56, Fox shared his announcement through a Facebook post, emphasizing his commitment to addressing the concerns of his fellow citizens. He highlighted the necessity for immediate action to shape a better future for the Bahamas, focusing on transparency, economic modernization, and creating genuine opportunities for all. Fox, who was appointed as an Ambassador-at-Large for Sports in 2022, has deep roots in the Bahamas, having moved there from Canada at a young age. His basketball career spanned 13 years in the NBA, primarily with the Lakers, where he achieved notable success, including three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2002.
